Prepare > Develop Planning Documents

Preparedness planning includes Emergency Operations Plans and Continuity Plans. Emergency Operations Plans are comprised of the general actions an organization will take during an event to protect lives, property and the environment, as well as specific actions taken before, during and after a severe storm.

Continuity plans include actions taken that will allow a business or government organization to continue to function and provide services at a minimal level during a disruptive event. When working towards becoming a disaster resilient community, continuity planning should be a coordinated effort between public and private industry. This will help ensure that all critical resources are available during a disaster and speed up the recovery process.
